The Children's Museum, Indy!

We went to Dave's sisters in Indy last weekend and had a great time! It is always nice to see family and get away for a couple days! We took the kids to the big Children's Museum and to the mall downtown!

The Grand Finale!

After I made french bread pizza for dinner we were off to Zesto's! It is a great little outdoor ice cream place that serves soft serve. (For my Portland people it is like a Kupie Cone-- when there still was one!) It closes when it gets cold and last night it was CHILLY but we had to make it there because it was the last chance--they were closing their doors for the season.

I included some SILLY videos of the kids...they are a kick and this shows their true little selves.

Off to the Park!

The park was calling our name after a nice walk! Of course no one is tired anymore once they see slides and monkey bars!

The above photo is classic. Jackson going down the rock wall terrified saying "Aurora, I don't want you doing this...it is too dangerous!" Of course our girl practically RAN down it!

Falling Leaves and/or Children....

Next it was time for a walk in the woods! We went to Franke Park and enjoyed the wonderful fall day! Nothing is better than hearing the leaves under your feet on a beautiful day in my opinion--and now Aurora shares the same thought!

Pumpkin Pickin'

Today was a busy, busy day for the little Kulp family! So many great picture opportunities that I thought I would do a separate blog for all of the activities! After a slow, lazy Sunday morning we were off to the Pumpkin Patch in the country! Each of us carefully picked our pumpkin--Aurora had to have 2--one for her room and one for the porch. (She has since named the tiny one Angelina Ballerina and has carried it everywhere except school! She even has carried it in a play pen! Awe, the silliness!) No names for Jackson's but he did decide on a white one which he wants to make it look like a ghost!

Can you tell Jackson is at the age that making silly faces for the camera is "cool"?

Happy Birthday, Jackson!

I think Jackson said it best..."Can you believe I am nine Mommy? Just think, those nine years went by so quickly! Imagine in nine more years I will be eighteen and out of the house." (sigh) I almost cried. Yes, nine years have flown by and it is hard to believe my little "puppy" has turned nine. He is such a smart little guy and we are so proud of him. His teacher just wrote a note saying in his progress report "Jackson is a JOY to have in class." Awe, that is music to a mommies ears!

.

Jackson had his wish come true. With the help of Grammie, Papa Mike, Papa Jaynes, Grammie Kim, Mommy & Daddy--he received his Guitar Hero Nintendo DS. Very exciting! He also acquired enough money from relatives to buy another game and case for it! Uncle Willie was quite the hero too with sending the first two seasons of The Simpsons. (He is his Uncle's boy loving that show!)

All Jackson wanted to do for his party was to invite friends (Hank, Owen, Orie and Thomas) over for pizza and games! It was a great night of boy silliness, gross outs, and play!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes and gifts! The boy has been more than excited and grateful!

Apple Festival

We took a drive to Kendallville (Kendall-tucky as we call it here--you get the picture) for the cute little Apple Festival. The kids loved the Apple Fritters and making their own crafts. Aurora made a cornhusk doll and Jackson made a pencil holder of clay. The weather was perfect! What a lovely day!
