Canal Days

We took the kids to Canal Days in New Haven (the town next to ours) for our first festival of the summer. They were to chicken to brave some scary carnival rides--but that did not stop Dave and I. We rode some tummy turning ride! It was a nice evening and the kids each picked out some junk to eat: Aurora and Austin had an elephant ear and Jackson had a deep fried Snickers bar.

Tis the Season for S'mores

In celebration of school ending our friends Amanda and Owen came over to join us for S'mores! We stayed up late, got very gooey and had a lot of laughs!

The Last Day of School

Hard to believe Miss Aurora has officially become a 1st grader! She did so well this year going all day for kindergarten and we were fortunate enough to have had Mrs Smith as her teacher. It was her first year teaching and she was so full of life and loved the kids. I helped the kids make her a memory book to remember their class. It was darling, they worked so hard!

The field trips seemed to all pack into the last month of school! It kept us on our toes! This is Jackson's trip to the zoo. The kids are so lucky the zoo is only 1 block from the school.

Mrs Tinkle

a
Jackson's 3rd grade teacher Mrs Ann Tinkle retired this year. She swears up and down this was her best class in her whole teaching career. The kids adored her! So many days Jackson would come home with stories she shared with the class from her childhood. She is an amazing lady and the kids will not forget her. They even decided amongst themselves to throw her a surprise party and save money for a gift. They all raised over $100. She was so very touched. What a wonderful year for Jackson.
